Shakespeare
Youth Performance Workshop
This is one of Shakespeare’s most enduring and delightful comedies, under the direction of Brian Haney. A quartet of young lovers find themselves lost in a forest filled with spirits and spells while a troop of bumbling actors, led by the inimitable Nick Bottom, try (and hilariously fail) to stage a play. Adding to the confusion, the mischievous sprite Puck whisks about with a magic potion causing all the wrong people – and even some deities – to fall in love with each other. For 19 years, the Shakespeare Youth Performance Workshop has helped both actors and audiences to demystify the Bard, introducing them to the power, humanity and humor of Shakespeare’s stories and language.
